Production Update #51: Burn Barrel Shoot Saturday 1/16 @ 11am

I'm guessing we won't be getting too many 44 degree days in January, so let's take advantage of Saturday to shoot this one daylight exterior scene -- burning mail at the trash barrel.
Back in October, a colleague of mine -- Ed Holthause -- approached me to ask if there were any acting roles left in the film. I told him just one small part: A postman who burns the "unimportant" mail so he doesn't have to lug it around. I told him, "Hey, you want the role? Come up with a believable postal outfit for a small town delivery guy, and the job is yours."
Well, Holthause has come through -- with a pith helmet and a homemade uniform. And so, tomorrow we'll try to finally shoot this short scene.
Crew call:
Saturday, January 16, 2010 from 11 am - 1pm in Lineboro
We'll actually shoot the scene in the backyard of my house, against the old white shed and the evergreen, in an attempt to mask out as many winter-bare trees as possible. I have a wire cage to burn the mail in...
I also want to thank Holthause and his friend Chris Hart -- who will appear alongside him as Junior, the septic guy -- for their contribution to the scene's dialog.
Confirmed for the shoot: Masters, Sapora, Campbell, Slade, Holthause, Hart, and for the first time production assistant Tom Wach, another student of mine at McDaniel College.
Bob & Gordon: I want to shoot this in one long take wide shot, with Talia (Campbell) moving through the space right to left.
Let's hope the weather stays unseasonably warm. And I'll see you all in Lineboro tomorrow...
