Production Request: Film props for Oct 20 shoot
Becki and Phil [Masters, audio recordist Gordon's Masters' brother and sister-in-law],
I know Gordon has already mentioned this to you, but I wanted to follow up...
On Saturday Oct 20, we are going to continue shooting this (century-long) 16mm film project. One of the scenes we'll be tackling takes place in a small, hometown (outdated) doctor's office. We've actually secured a location -- and have various set pieces like an old exam table, a cool old wooden back board, some old books -- but we're still looking for a few more props to dress the space to make it believable. It's supposed to be a room that hasn't been really used in years, so any old "doctor props" that we could borrow would be greatly appreciated (books. old microscope, whatever).
We'll only be using the props as background set dressing -- so no one will be actually using them or interacting with them. And I will personally take charge of their well-being. I promise to be very careful.
If you can think of anything we might possibly borrow from your collection, please let me know. I'd be happy to drive up to Hershey, PA to pick them up -- most probably on the Friday before the shoot (10/19).
I know this is a lot to ask -- but being a broke independent filmmaker has forced me to be "not shy" about asking for far-out favors... I truly understand if it's not possible, but Gordon has been pushing me to ask for a while now (as he should). And actually asking is the only way I know how to "get him off my back..." OK. Kidding. But I've learned to trust Gordon in the "prop procurement" arena. Any man who would drive around town with an old rotary pay phone in the trunk of his car -- just in case -- is not to be taken lightly...
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to email or call me...
And thanks again for considering it...
