Production Update #34: Night shoot Saturday 10/20 @ 5:30pm

To All Those Still Hanging in There on Slade's Crazy-Ass, Never-Ending Indie Film Experience:
We're finally going to shoot those 3 short scenes in Flynt's Doctor's Office, and the 1 cleanup scene in the kitchen this weekend. It won't amount to a lot of screen time, but it will take a good deal of effort to set-dress the office location to make it look all old-worn-out-and-doctory...
Because of Ray's passing, I've reworked these scenes so that they will instead feature Talia (Novia Campbell) and a trio of local patients (Minor, Sapora, Masters)... Will I be able to stitch this into the larger narrative? Too soon to tell. I'll only know that after I spend some time at the Steenbeck edit table... As for the larger question, how to finish the film without Ray's final scenes. Well, I'll work on that this fall and winter, editing what we have, and then re-structuring the story to use as much of Ray's work as possible...
For now, though, we need to move quickly because our doctor's office location is up for sale, and could become unavailable in just a few short days:
SHOOT: Saturday October 20, 2007 -- 5:30pm - 11pm. (INTERIOR NIGHT SHOOT)
Cast & crew call: 5:30pm
Location: Monkton, MD (Directions and contact info attached.)
Masters, Sapora, Campbell, and Slade will meet @ 4:45pm at the bank in downtown Hampstead, MD.
Shots will include:
DR'S OFFICE:
* TALIA discovers, roams, and cleans doctor's office (wedding dress -- no veil); to be intercut with existing cleaning sequence
* TALIA sees male patients -- no wedding ring, coveralls; to be jump cut diagnosis scene similar to the one in the tavern
* TALIA roams clean, empty exam room; wistfully saying "goodbye" to the space
KITCHEN:
* TALIA scrubs floor (bring white pail)
* TALIA opens old fridge; empty except for 2 props -- and hopefully Flynt's glasses, if I can locate a look-alike pair in the next day (old, big, thick frames)
* TALIA tries to get water out of kitchen sink -- into mason jar -- but no luck. No water...
SATURDAY WRAP around 11pm
So, Bob, if you can load:
* one full mag of Tungsten
* one short end of Tungsten
* one short end of Daylight
Gordon:
* all interior; max 2 talent; very stationary
Biggest challenge of the day, though, will be dressing the set, and lighting it...
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. And, as always, thank you guys for still believing in this enough to keep moving forward. On Friday, I will be packing props and lights, so if you need me, probably best to call my cell.
PS: Today is my birthday. Can't think of a better gift to myself than spending as much time as possible working on this project... See you all on Saturday...
